What is up to you guys though Cody here
today in 2018 completely redesigned
Chevy Traverse
courtesy of subtlest Chevrolet in
Harrisburg PA and so let me just jump
right into it and let's start with the
price it's gonna start there are several
different trim levels available for the
2018 Traverse first one being the L that
is going to start at thirty thousand
eight hundred and seventy-five dollars
then there's the LS 430 two thousand
nine hundred ninety-five dollars into LT
cloths for thirty-five thousand four
hundred ninety-five dollars to LT
leather for forty-two thousand ninety
five dollars then there is the premier
which starts at forty-five thousand
three hundred ninety-five dollars and
lastly, the high country which is the one
I am in today that is going to start at
fifty-two thousand nine hundred ninety
five dollars.
By the way for all of those
prices except for the high country that
is for the front-wheel drive setup if
you wanted all-wheel drive simply add an
additional two thousand dollars to those
prices except of course for the high
country which comes standard with
all-wheel drive it's about regardless of
trim level the powerplant is going to be
the state powering the 2018 Traverse is
going to be a three point six liter
naturally aspirated v6 putting out 310
horsepower at 1600 rpm and 266 pounds
feet of torque available 2,800 rpm again
power sent to either front wheels or all
wheels through all wheel drive through a
9 speed automatic transmission giving
you mpg numbers right around 18 in the
city 27 on the highway and by the way
this one does come with the start/stop
system so when you're stopped at a red
light or stop sign the engine is going
to automatically shut off for you
helping you save a little miles per
gallon there and then the second you let
off the brake the engine is going to
instantly turn back on if you also worry
about starting the car up again of
course so then when it comes to ride
quality I've actually hit a good number
of bumps so far in this trip because we
have a good number of them in
Pennsylvania but actually this thing is
taking them quite well how would even
venture to say better than most of the
SUVs I review so that is definitely in
process I when it comes to that
suspension the 2018 Traverse does come
with a fully independent suspension
tuned for a smooth ride and optimum
handling so there's going to be a
McPherson strut coil spring front
suspension and an independent by Blink
rear suspension and so now when it comes
to visibility this is actually one of my
favorite parts in the 2018 Traverse and
you might be asking yourself why are the
where with visibility be great in a
three row SUV I will start by saying of
course you have your rear blind zones
back there but that is really with every
three row SUV out there so you're always
going to have that but with this 2018
Traverse when I flip that little switch
right under that rear view mirror that
is going to actually give you a rear
view camera within that rear view mirror
which I absolutely love on this thing
and actually the only time I've ever
seen that is on the Cadillac ct-6 so
definitely bringing luxury into the 2018
Traverse I'm a huge fan of that because
actually that kind of eliminates that
extra blind zone in the back as well
giving you that added visibility I keep
mentioning it something else is I have
not done it yet let's put that 3.6 liter
v6 to the test and do a quick little
acceleration see how quickly we can get
the new 2018 Traverse here up the speed
actually pretty darn quick definitely
pigs you into the seat so no issues
whatsoever with merging onto the highway
I have definitely a fan of this
acceleration it works perfectly for the
2018 Traverse it's so but now enough of
the driving dynamics let's check out the
exterior instead of start up front
though our HID headlamps for all trims
but the premiere in high country of
course because on the premiere in high
country you are going to get standard
LED headlamps up there but then to go
along with that there are LED daytime
running lights that actually come
standard for all trim levels and just
below fall glimpse for the LT trim it up
and of course in between all that
lighting there is a large front grille
definitely looks good on the new 2018
Traverse here but then make it our way
to decide LS trim it up is going to come
with that standard dark tinted glass
that you see almost SUV these days I'm
going to come to the side mirrors there
are black painted side mirrors for the L
and LS trim levels body color side
mirrors with integrated turn signals are
going to come standard for the LT and
premier and high country and if you look
up roof rails will come standard on the
LT trim it up but then looking down when
it comes that will set up 18-inch
aluminum wheels come with the L in LS LT
trim level is going to give me 20 inch 6
spoke aluminum wheels and the premiere
in high country are going to give you 20
inch metallic machined aluminum wheels
but then make your way to the back on
the top there there is that rear spoiler
with the integrated brake light along
with that rear wiper those two are
actually going to come standard for
every single trim level definitely like
the new sharper look as well for that
taillight design on the 2018 Traverse
that looks good I just blow it all there
are dual exhaust outlets with chrome
tips so as always you guys here is that
exhaust clip
you
it's someone else's we are around back
to open that rear hatch I first do want
to mention that there is a button on the
key fob so I'm just going to show you
that right now that is how you're going
to open it and by the way to close that
all you need to do is simply press one
button on that rear hatch walk away and
it's actually going to close itself so
that's the nice feature there too but
when it comes to cargo capacity with all
three rows of seating up behind that
third row that's going to come in at 23
cubic feet another nice little feature
is if you lift up the bottom of that
rear cargo capacity there there's a
little bit of additional hidden storage
under there so that's definitely nice as
well but then of course there's third
row seats do fold down bumping the cubic
feet in this up to 58 point one by the
way on the trim level that I have today
I do have power folding rear seats to
simply press that button hold it down
and that is going to fold them down but
actually fold them back up as well as
power folding both ways so that's
definitely nice there anyways with all
three rows folded down that is going to
come in at 98.5 cubic feet nearly a
hundred that's definitely nice giving
you more than enough space you could
probably live back there if you wanted
to do so but anyways when it comes to
that rear legroom third rogue legroom is
going to come in at 30 3.5 inches so for
reference I mean even six feet tall
actually was able to fit back there
surprisingly so it was pretty nice
second row legroom comes in at thirty
eight point four inches again I was
easily able to fit back there another
really nice thing about the 2018
Traverse at least comparing it to some
of the other SUVs I've reviewed I
usually don't see this but tri-zone
climate control comes standard on every
single trim level meaning driver
passenger and the rear passengers can
all set their own climate all set their
own temperature really allowing everyone
to be comfortable so that's a good thing
and if we go with the premiere of the
high country you do get heated rear
seats back there as well but then making
your way to the front seats the L and L
S trim levels are going to give you
manually adjustable seats LT trim level
and up is going to give you 8 way power
adjustable driver seat with power lumbar
and if you go with the premier high
country do get heated seats with memory
settings for up to two different drivers
then looking forward there is a tilt and
telescoping steering wheel on the
premier and high country tilt steering
wheel is actually going to be all terms
but that premier in high country I have
to go with the LT trim level and up you
are going to get a leather wrap steering
wheel if we go with the premier trim
level or up that steering wheels
going to come heat it as well but now
let me get to the startup here because
there is going to be a remote start on
the LP leather trim level and up and I
do of that remote start today so of
course you can start the vehicle like
that if you wanted to but I'm just going
to simply put my phone in the brake here
and press the engine start button and
then upon startup when it comes to those
gauges those gauges will do a full sweep
upon startup a kilometer is going to be
on your left speedometers on your right
fuel gauges on the top there and there
is a digital set up front and center
which can be controlled actually by
using the steer wheel mounted controls
on the right side the steering wheel
there so rather than be rambling on this
part I'm just going to let you guys
check that out right now somebody comes
to overall interior quality first thing
I noticed on this one and this again is
another first for me is there is a
wireless phone charger that comes
standard on the premiere in high country
and I've seen Wireless phone charges
before tons of times but I've never seen
one that actually fit my LGB 20 phone
because it is rather large and it fit it
perfectly so I of course was definitely
a fan of that but continuing on there is
a universal home remote on the LT
leather and up for your garage doors
there and if you wanted a panoramic
sunroof it does come standard on the
high country that I'm in today but it is
available for the other trim levels for
an additional $1,400 overall I am an
absolute huge fan of the interior
quality of this one maybe because it's
the high country but I like the two-tone
interior also it is a mixture of leather
suede and wood trims throughout this one
so very high-end interior but now let me
get into the tech a little bit here
because front and center there is a
7-inch color touch screen display for
the L LS and lt cloth trim levels if you
go with the LT leather up you are going
to get an 8 inch color touchscreen
display and that LT leather and up is
also going to give you a standard
factory navigation system definitely
nice there for either setup you are
going to get Android auto an apple
carplay standard which means you have
free navigation through Google I guess
it's not really free because it eats up
your data but still definitely a very
nice navigation system through Google
that's what I have in my own vehicle and
I use it all the time reroute you
whenever there's a traffic accident is
definitely very reliable
but also with Android auto and apple
carplay you can like and dislike your
Pandora songs up on that screen that's
definitely convenient as well and you do
have access to I Heart Radio and a
couple other apps too if you wanted them
also but this one comes Bluetooth and
audio streaming now one of the reasons I
like the Chevy set up is because you do
have access to check the weather on
there as well so you can check the
five-day forecast or just today if you
wanted to that's pretty nice of course
you can display your audio information
up there as well by the way with the LT
leather trim level and up you are going
to get a standard Bose 10 speaker
premium sound system so that is actually
the one I have today so let's turn on
the radio and test out the clarity of
this one absolute ridiculous amount of
bass you guys can probably see my camera
rumbling a little bit there but huge fan
of that sound system crystal clear - it
is definitely working for the 2018
Traverse here the last thing I do want
to mention to you guys is a rear-view
camera comes standard on every single
trim level but LT leather trim level and
up is going to get that rear camera
mirror that I was previously mentioning
so you have to go with the LT leather up
to get that what that is definitely a
pretty sweet feature but anyways that is
always just going to lead me into safety
instead of start there our front side
and side curtain airbags as well as a
front center airbag I think that's
probably the first time I've seen that
in the back to our rear child door locks
as well as latch and K in lower anchors
and tethers for children for the rear
car seats also standard on every trim
level as they stay bill attracts the
ability control system tire pressure
monitoring system and something called
teen driver mode which prevents your
teen driver from turning off the safety
features to have a little fun and yes
they can turn off the teen driver mode
but that gets logged into the vehicle
system so you can actually see when they
do itself there really is no way of
getting around that if you're a teen
driver but continuing on the high
country trim level is also going to add
several other safety features including
a following distance indicator forward
collision alert front pedestrian braking
front automatic braking and lane keep
assist with lane departure warning and
so but that is about it for this one you
